Two Spaces Please
The premise behind BGP Corp.'s design style is, and always will
be: "clarity and
respect for the reader".
While one space between sentences is considered right, the use
of two spaces is, in our publisher's mind, more respectful of the reader.
The majority of professional typesetters use one space since generally
well-designed typefaces with professionally tweaked kerning shouldn't need the
extra space. However, the move into multimedia and the use of periods in abbreviations
can cause ambiguity and readability problems. Hence, it is our publisher's
policy to cue
the reader for the end of the sentence by using two spaces and have the
typesetter tighten spaces as required.
